La Paz!

In February of 2015, 14 MOACers left winter behind for 10 days of paddling, snorkeling with whale sharks and sea lions, whale watching, and much more in the La Paz area of Baja California, Mexico. When one of the humpback whales along with her newly born calf bonded with our adventurers, it was a truly incredible experience. In addition to their outdoor adventures, the group got to enjoy the food, culture and friendliness of the Mexican people. Join trip leader Bill Connolly as he presents photos from on a trip he says was one of the best 10 days of his entire (very, very long) life.

Bill has been a MOACer for over 20 years. He credits MOAC with giving him the interest, knowledge, experience and camaraderie to go places and do things he never would have discovered on his own. Bill has made previous presentations on trips to Iceland, Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon, and Paria Canyon. Last fall, he embarked on a through-hike of the 800 mile Arizona Trail. What was he thinking? At mile 300 he realized he was an out-of-shape old man and left the trail. He plans to return this fall for a modest 250 miles more and then complete the final 250 miles of the trail in 2018. Among his more memorable accomplishments is to have survived two Dan Kidd trips.
